The challenge
Deployments took four hours, required downtime windows, and failed roughly one time in five. PCI-DSS scope sprawled across the entire codebase, making audits painful and insurance expensive. The board demanded reliability targets the current architecture could never hit.
What we did
We carved the monolith into nine bounded services around payments, ledgers and risk, fronted by an event backbone. Terraform landing zones, GitOps delivery with ArgoCD, canary releases and automated rollback brought deployment risk near zero. PCI scope was shrunk to an isolated cardholder-data enclave.
