About ByteDots
The consultancy we wished existed when we were clients.
Founded in 2017 by two engineers tired of PowerPoint-led consulting. Today: 38 seniors across 14 countries, 240+ delivered projects, and a rule we have never broken — no juniors billed as experts.

Our story
Built by operators, not slideware.
Amara and Tomás met on a failing bank migration in 2016 — a project drowning in status reports that never shipped software. They left, started ByteDots, and wrote two rules on the first whiteboard: seniors only, and demo or it didn’t happen.
Nine years later those rules still hold. We stay deliberately small-ish, hire slowly (about one offer per forty interviews), and take on fewer clients than we could. It is why our average engagement rating is 4.9/5 and why most new business arrives through referrals.
We are certified where certification matters — ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, Cyber Essentials Plus — but the credential we are proudest of is simpler: every project we have ever started has been finished.
Own the outcome
We are measured on your outcomes, not our hours. If a project stops making sense commercially, we will tell you before you ask.
Leave it stronger
Every engagement must end with your team more capable than we found it. Documentation, pairing and coaching are deliverables, not favours.
Radical transparency
Live dashboards, honest estimates, bad news early. You should never wonder what is happening inside your own project.
Craft over volume
We take fewer clients and staff them with seniors only. Boring reliability beats heroic firefighting, every single time.
Milestones
Nine years, zero failed engagements
-
2017
Founded in a London kitchen
Two engineers, one laptop each, and a conviction that consulting could be done without the theatre. First client: a payments startup still with us today.
-
2019
Cloud practice launches
Our DevOps practice formalises after the tenth migration request in a row. FinOps reviews become a signature offering.
-
2021
Remote-first, worldwide
The team goes permanent-remote across nine countries. Delivery quality goes up; our office plant does not survive the transition.
-
2023
Data & AI practice
Priya joins to found the data practice. Our first LLM assistant ships to production with evaluation harnesses most labs still lack.
-
2024
SOC 2 & ISO 27001 certified
We eat our own cooking: certification across the whole company, delivered by our own security practice.
-
2026
240+ projects and counting
Thirty-eight consultants, fourteen countries, zero failed engagements. Still allergic to jargon.
The people
Meet the dots
No account managers between you and the engineers. The people below are who you will actually work with.
Amara Osei
Founder & Principal Cloud Architect
Former lead platform engineer at a tier-1 bank. Amara has guided 60+ cloud migrations and still reviews every landing zone design that leaves the building.
Priya Raghavan
Head of Data & AI
PhD in machine learning, recovering academic. Priya leads our data platform builds and keeps our AI practice ruthlessly ROI-focused.
Tomás Ferreira
Principal Engineer
Fifteen years taming legacy systems across fintech and retail. Tomás wrote our strangler-fig playbook and mentors every modernisation engagement.
Hannah Weiss
Security Practice Lead
OSCP-certified, ex-Big-Four. Hannah has delivered 40+ SOC 2 and ISO 27001 programmes without freezing a single product roadmap.
Jonas Lindqvist
Staff Platform Engineer
Golden-path evangelist. Jonas builds internal developer platforms that engineers adopt voluntarily — then measures everything.
Daniel Okafor
Fractional CTO & Advisor
Three-time startup CTO with one exit under his belt. Daniel runs due diligence, architecture reviews and our advisory retainers.
Sofia Marchetti
Head of Delivery
Keeps eleven concurrent engagements humming. Sofia invented our transparent delivery dashboard after one too many status meetings.
